Fox® Air Float Cut-Off with Horizontal Traveling Axis

The Fox® Air Float Cut-Off machine is ideal for gate and riser removal on small to medium size castings, or castings on runner bars or trees. The system excels at cutting castings produced in small to medium runs, because fixtures are easy to change. The machine also is well suited for cutting off castings that are too heavy for operators to handle, as the air float feature makes moving several hundred pounds almost effortless.

The Air Float Cut-Off with Horizontal Traveling Axis is a specially designed cut-off system that provides control of the saw with joysticks from a Control Panel located outside of the machine enclosure.

The machine incorporates a hydraulic down-pressure system and air floatation table with appropriate hydraulics and controls. It incorporates a vacuum hold-down system for the tooling gondola, so the gondola is secure during cutting. The casting gondola is designed to accommodate interchangeable tooling to secure the casting, increasing the flexibility of the system as a whole. A low power laser is mounted to the machine to display a vivid red line where the edge of the cut-off wheel will descend, aiding in the alignment process.

Standard Air Float Cut-Off machines allow easy cutting with vertical movement of the saw and manual operation. However, this model provides vertical saw travel as well as horizontal travel to move the saw forward and backward, all powered by hydraulics. The Cut-Off saw incorporates a hydraulic down-pressure system to efficiently cut risers and/or gates from a variety of castings. Hydraulic down force provides for quicker, cooler cuts with less blade wear.
